Hill cutting tress felling risks

in the district of Cox's Bazar, Ctg, Bandarban and Rangamati due to landslides, mudslides but exact problem govt did not trace out and did not solve. The main causes of landslides is cutting hill, unplanned human settlement, mostly unauthorized and cutting most the trees, indiscriminate deforestation.,But the govt did not know how many people living unauthorized in hill area and around 20 km from town all districts and there is also environment law, forest dept, administration, but they did not plan way how to settle slum in the area? Risk area must be find out every year and I see most tress cutting, soil loose, so this problem how can solve? Forest dept, environment and all related dept sit for round table talking, find out the solution, otherwise every year died in the rainy seasons.

Please look at the other side of the problem, in fact we do not have internal/domestic displacement policies. The people who are dying they are poor people, displaced by the river erosion, sea submerge, landless or by any economic causes. We must have a policy that how we will place them at least for a piece of safe home. Otherwise they will be continued to loos their life. These people not only die due to land land slide, mind it they also loss their home due fire gutted in urban slum. Due to climate change and other causes, displacement is being increasing and they will take house indiscriminately taking their life risk and ultimately it will make whole society in risk. Government must have a policy for internally displace people.

Kate Upton is attracted to men who “smell nice”.

The 19-year-old has risen to fame after winning the cover of Sport Illustrated’s Swimsuit Issue this year. She is often approached by men as she is known for her long blonde hair and curvaceous shape. However, she will only date guys who have a great scent.
“I think a guy is very attractive when they smell nice,” she told Ask Men.
“It’s easier to approach them and you feel comfortable. It definitely happens more often than you think when someone comes up and you’re like, ‘Wow he’s really attractive and seems really nice,’ and it just doesn’t work if he smells bad.”
Kate also likes a good sense of humour. The model is looking for someone who can make her laugh.
“I think someone clever, witty and funny is very attractive,” she said.
“I like to laugh, I like to have a good time. I don’t like to be too serious about things so I would want a guy that would want to have a good time.”
She refuses to talk to men who try to use silly pick-up lines to get her attention. The bombshell prefers the opposite sex to exude confidence and be natural.
“Pick-up lines just never work so if you come up to me and use a pick-up line I’m probably just going to walk away and forget about you. I block them out,” she laughed.

Mobile phone's brain cancer link rejected

mobile phones and increased risk of brain tumours, the British Medical Journal (BMJ) reported yesterday.Danish researchers found no evidence of enhanced risk among more than 350,000 mobile-phone subscribers whose health was monitored over 18 years.
Earlier research on the possible link between cell phone use and cancerous tumours has been inconclusive, partly due to lack of long-term data.
In June, the World Health Organisation's International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) classified the radio-frequency electromagnetic fields emitted by mobile phones as "possibly carcinogenic to humans."
The new study follows up an earlier investigation that compared the cancer risk faced by all mobile phone subscribers in Denmark--some 420,000 people--with the rest of the adult population.
Patrizia Frei, a postdoctoral research fellow at the Danish Cancer Society, and colleagues examined health records from 1990 to 2007 for 358,403 cell phone subscribers.
Overall, 10,729 tumours of the central nervous system were diagnosed.
But among people with the longest mobile phone use--13 years or more--cancer rates were nearly the same as for non-subscribers.
"The extended follow-up allowed us to investigate effects in people who had used mobile phones for 10 years or more, and this long-term use was not associated with higher risks of cancer," the study concluded.
The findings, however, could not rule out the possibility of a "small to moderate increase in risk" for very heavy users, or people who have used cell phones for longer than 15 years.
"Further studies with large study populations where the potential for misclassification of exposure and selection bias is minimised are warranted," the researchers said.
There are about five billion mobile phones registered in the world, a figure that continues to rise sharply along with the average amount of time spent using them.
The IARC does not issue formal recommendations, but its experts pointed in June to a number of ways consumers can reduce possible risk.
Texting and using hands-free sets for voice calls lower exposure to potentially harmful radiation, compared to device-to-ear voice calls, by at least tenfold, they said.

Max Manganello, who plays a soldier in the film Tweeted about the accident, but the post was since deleted.
"It's a wrap for today. Kristen hurt herself," he wrote, according to E! News, "Nothing scary... We shoot [again] on Friday."
Stewart's spokesperson had no immediate comment on the reports and no information was given on the injury.
The "Twilight" actress recently told MTV News that the role was very different from the Disney princess audiences are familiar with.
"It's not a little girl sitting by a well with little tweety birds telling her what to do and where to go," Stewart told MTV News. "[The costume] makes you feel kind of strong occasionally, sometimes, but I kind of feel tiny, my pinhead sticks out of these enormous things."

Tin Bigha (WB), Oct 19 (PTI) Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today expressed hope for an amicable solution to the distribution of Teesta river waters between India and Bangladesh soon.

Albino Cyclops Shark Discovered in Gulf of California

A mysterious cyclops shark -- or a shark with a single eye in the middle of its head -- was discovered by a commercial fisherman off the Gulf of California. The shark was actually discovered during the summer, but shark researchers have been studying, examining and preserving the cyclops shark since its discovery.

The shark itself is colorless -- a sickly white hue with a large, solitary eye in the middle of its forehead, just above its mouth. All other features, including fins, tale and mouth, appear to be normal. The only abnormality is the lack of one eye.

According to a report by CBS News, where you can see pictures, the shark was cut from the belly of a pregnant dusky shark with nine other, regularly developed shark fetuses. Though the pictures of the strange creature appear doctored or altered to create the cyclops appearance, researchers have verified that this bizarre looking shark is actually the real deal.

Felope Galvan Magana, a shark expert with Mexico's Centro Interdisciplinario de Ciencias del Mar, told reporters that the albino cyclops shark is, "extremely rare."

The official name for the anomaly is "Cyclopia."

"As far as I know, less than 50 examples of an abnormality like this have been recorded," added Magana.

The cyclops shark did not survive after it was cut out from the mother shark's womb. It's also unlikely that the malformed sea creature would have lived outside of the womb if it were carried full term.

The commercial fisherman who originally discovered the cyclops shark has kept and preserved the remains of his findings, say various media reports. He did allow scientists to examine and x-ray the fish in order to authenticate it. A report on their findings will be published by Pisces Fleet and Glavan Magana in the coming weeks.

Daniel Radcliffe couldn't be at the 2011 Spike TV Scream Awards in person, but he joined the awards via live feed from New York City's Lincoln Center to accept the Ultimate Scream Award for the final Harry Potter movie, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2."

"I've had the most incredible 10 years of my life on 'Harry Potter. It's been the year of the longest goodbye in the world, and it is a very, very sad thing, but we just had the most amazing, amazing time," says Radcliffe.

"Deathly Hallows" also received Best Scream-Play, Best Fantasy Actor, Best Villain, Holy S*** Scene of the Year and Best FX, in addition to the Ultimate Scream. The Scream Awards air on Spike TV Tuesday night, Oct. 18, at 9 p.m. ET.
